Ram 1500 Classic: continuing its journey into 2024

Ram 1500 Classic: continuing its journey into 2024

While all indications were that the Ram 1500 Classic would be retiring at the end of 2023, Stellantis has confirmed that it will continue on its journey into 2024. Consumers looking for a full-size pickup truck will still be able to buy the Ram 1500 Classic. This means they'll still be able to get high capacity at a low price.

When the fifth-generation Ram 1500 was introduced in 2019, strategists decided to continue marketing the previous-generation DS model. This model was first introduced in 2009 and has proved its worth for several years now. The Ram 1500 Classic is available in several versions: Tradesman, SLT, Express, Night Edition and Warlock. A number of cab and bed-length configurations are available. Pricing starts at $47,440.

V6 or V8

When choosing the Ram 1500 Classic, customers can choose between a V6 and a V8 engine. The former develops 305 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque. The latter delivers 395 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque.

The Ram 1500 Classic can tow up to 10,610 lbs. Payload capacity is 1930 lbs.

All versions can be equipped with 4X4 drive, although some come with 4X2 drive as standard.

Ram 1500 DT also available

Meanwhile, Stellantis continues to market the Ram 1500 DT. More recently designed, it is a more modern vehicle overall. It can tow loads of up to 12,750 lbs. Several versions are available: Tradesman, Big Horn, Sport, Rebel, Laramie, Limited Longhorn, Limited and TRX. Among other features, the Ram 1500 is available in more luxurious versions, which can be better equipped than the Ram 1500 Classic. On board, it can accommodate a 12-inch touchscreen compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wirelessly.

From 2025 onwards, the Ram 1500 will be modernized. Electrified versions will also appear in the catalog.

In short, dealers will continue to sell the Ram 1500 Classic for another year. Several units are available at dealerships. Consumers will be delighted to learn that the manufacturer is offering substantial discounts for this model.
