Jeep Wrangler 4XE 2024: 4 reasons to be interested

Jeep Wrangler 4XE 2024: 4 reasons to be interested

Although Jeep has yet to bring a 100% electric vehicle to the North American market, the 4X4 brand has well and truly begun the green shift with plug-in hybrids like the 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4XE. The model has been renewed for 2024. Here are 4 reasons to take an interest.

What's new for 2024

As you can see, the Jeep Wrangler retains its traditional styling while benefiting from a subtly redesigned grille. The interior has also been slightly reworked. In the center of the dashboard is a new 12.3-inch display. It incorporates Uconnect 5 technology. As a result, the Jeep Wrangler 4XE remains very much of its time.

Electric range and low fuel consumption

According to data supplied by Natural Resources Canada, the Jeep Wrangler has an electric range of 35 kilometers, thanks in part to its 17 kWh battery. So, depending on your usage, you can make daily trips without having to worry about putting gas in the tank. Then, for longer trips, you can rely on the efficiency of the 2.0 L turbocharged four-cylinder engine under the hood. Power is rated at 375 hp and torque at 470 lb-ft. In combined driving, the 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4XE consumes just 11.7 L/100 km. The rating is 11.6 L/100 km in the city and 11.9 L/100 km on the highway. At a Level 1 terminal, it will take around 12 hours to fully recharge the battery and maximize the electric range for the next use.

Eligible for government credits

In its Sport S and Willys versions, the 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4XE is eligible for important government credits. In fact, it qualifies for the Quebec government's Roulez Vert program, which gives it a $5,000 subsidy. Both versions are also eligible for the $2,500 credit offered by the federal government and its zero-emission vehicle incentive program. The Sahara version only qualifies for the federal credit. Clearly, these financial incentives could not be more attractive. The Jeep Wrangler 4XE 2024 starts at $62,190. The price range stretches up to $86,410 for a Rubicon X version.

Genuine Jeep capabilities

The 2024 Wrangler 4XE is an electrified vehicle, and benefits from the excellent off-road capabilities you'd expect from a Jeep. The Rock-Track 4X4 system is highly efficient, and includes a two-speed transfer case, a constant-mesh 4x4 system, Dana 44 front and rear axles, and Tru-Lok electric front and rear axle locks. It's even possible to lock the anti-roll bar for more efficient articulation. Consumers can also opt to have a front winch installed directly at the factory. The winch has a load capacity of 8,000 lbs. All in all, the Jeep Wrangler 4XE benefits from a number of new features for 2024, and is well worth a closer look. It stands out from other 4X4 vehicles thanks to its eligibility for government credits and its electric range.
