Jeep has well and truly embarked on its electric journey. The adventurous SUV brand's catalog already includes plug-in hybrid versions of its popular Wrangler and Grand Cherokee models. Jeep has announced its intention to go 100% electric in the near future.
Last January, Jeep unveiled the electric Wagoneer S. Let's remember that the manufacturer brought back the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer in 2022 in order to expand its range and offer full-size SUVs. With this new large electric SUV, Jeep continues to build on this strong and evocative name.
The Wagoneer S is a large SUV for the global market. It is developed on the STLA-Large platform, dedicated to large electric vehicles.
As you can see from the photos, the Jeep Wagoneer S sports the brand's traditional grille. However, the grille has been modernized and LED technology has been integrated. The silhouette is much more aerodynamic than that of the gasoline-powered Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer. The roofline is rather sleek, and the rear spoiler features a large aileron.
Few technical details are available about the Jeep Wagoneer S. What we do know is that it will be impressive. Available power is said to be 600 hp. This new all-electric SUV will be able to reach 96 km/h from a standstill in as little as 3.5 seconds. Of course, the Wagoneer S will be an authentic Jeep. It will benefit from the excellent 4XE drivetrain.
The photos also show that the electric Jeep Wagoneer S is a real technological showcase inside. Among other things, it features an array of screens and a Select-Terrain driving mode selector. Users can also choose the colour of the ambient lighting. The manufacturer also announced that the vehicle would be equipped with a McIntosh sound system featuring no fewer than 19 speakers, to ensure an excellent on-board experience for every occupant.
It is scheduled to arrive in dealerships across the province in the fall of 2024. Via the Jeep Canada website, you can register to keep up to date with the latest news about the electric Jeep Wagoneer S.
